Welcome to SFGIRL Blog
July 10, 2008
I am Laurie Peterson, a producer/product manager working at the intersection of digital marketing and product development for the past 10+ years. Things started to get interesting eight years ago when I joined Leapfrog to produce educational interactive toys. After 5 years of ABCs and 123s and eight published software titles, I jumped ship and joined Leapfrog’s digital agency of record: EVB. At EVB I produced a variety of interactive marketing campaigns focused on immersive brand experiences for clients like Leapfrog, Microsoft and Alberto Culver. Now I am combining my product development and digital marketing background as the Director of Product Management for care2.com. I am also getting my MBA at HAAS school of Business at Berkeley.
Why wordpress? Why now?
I’ve tried to maintain a portfolio website since 1998. A funny thing happens…very little ever gets updated! In the last ten years my personal sites have been updated three times. That’s right, I average an update every 3.5 years. (See the 2005 version here: www.sfgirl.us) Thriving on creativity, I used to design and build my sites from scratch. Recently we implemented wordpress on Care2.com, and I thought to myself, it’s about time I let someone else do the setup work. Technology today is just too good to pass up. Two hours later, my blog was up and running. Gotta love that!
